Objectives This study aimed to verify whether social competency mediate the relationship between acculturative stress and life satisfaction of multicultural adolescents and to seek implications for educational counseling. Methods For this purpose selected 2,271 adolescents from multicultural families as the analysis target in the first year of the second MAPS. For deriving meaningful data conducted this study descriptive statistics and correlation analysis between main relevant variables through SPSS. The mediating effect analysis was checked through SPSS Process Macro, and the significance of mediating was identified through bootstrapping function of SPSS Process Macro. Results To summarize the results of this study, first, it appeared that acculturative stress has a negative effect on life satisfaction, and social competency has a positive effect on life satisfaction. Second, it appeared that acculturative stress has a negative effect on social competency. Finally, the mediating effect of social competency was significant in the relationship between acculturative stress and life satisfaction. Conclusions Based on these results, this study proposes that the need to establish various strategic interventions regarding education and counseling to promote social competence in order to increase the life satisfaction of multicultural adolescents under acculturative stress.
