Criminology Reviewer’s Competencies and Study Skills Among Criminologists Licensure Examinee’s

This study aimed to assess the relationship between the reviewer's competencies and study skills among the two hundred forty-three (243) graduates (examinees) who took the review program conducted by PHINMA COC Criminology Review Center and took the licensure examination last December 2021 and June 2022. It was done to specifically assess the competencies of criminology reviewer in terms of knowledge of the subject matter, delivery of content, and assessment activity; to determine how respondents perceive their study skills in terms of time management and procrastination, concentration and memory; study aids and note-taking, test strategies and test anxieties, organizing and processing of information; and to find out if there is a significant relationship between the reviewer’s competencies and study skills among criminologists licensure examinee. Moreover, the study employed a descriptive research design and used Google Forms as the main data-gathering tool. The findings of the study revealed that the competencies of the Criminology reviewers have a significant impact on the study skills of the examinees. Also, reviewers need to expand their knowledge regarding the content to better enhance and prepare the examinees for the licensure examination. This can be addressed, though, by enhancing the knowledge on the subject by reiterating the content of the existing Table of Specifications duly approved and released by the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology.
