Abstract Richard Kahn published three books in his lifetime, the second one his Selected Essays on Employment and Growth (Cambridge University Press 1972). Now Maria Cristina Marcuzzo and Paolo Paesani have edited Richard F. Kahn: Collected Economic Essays (Palgrave Macmillan 2023) intended to complement Kahn’s own collection. As well as comparing the two volumes and some of Kahn’s writings not included in either collection, this review article considers how far the two volumes together reflect Kahn’s achievements in his life and academic career.
