Due to the utilization of sources of clean energy like solar and wind energy, distributed power generation is essential to the energy industry. If cut off from the main electrical grid, a microgrid is a local grid with control features that can function on its own. Microgrids can function as standalone units or as part of a grid connection. There are three classifications of microgrids: hybrid, AC and DC. The DC microgrid, which links numerous distributed generation units to the power system, is the main topic of this study. A succinct overview of microgrids and associated control schemes is provided in this work.
