This article analyzes the results of a sociological study to identify the shortcomings of the in-house training system for production workers at a machine-building enterprise. There are described the goals, objectives, research methods used during sociological research. The need for research is due to the fact that the operating conditions of modern industrial enterprises are changing, the development of scientific and technological progress is accelerating, and the digital transformation of production processes at enterprises is underway. The successful implementation of these processes is not possible without the formation of appropriate competencies among production workers, which can be developed both in the vocational training system outside the enterprise and within the framework of in-house training. The main idea of forming and adjusting the system of in-house personnel training is to create the opportunity to train workers directly on site without interrupting the main production process. Despite the accumulated theoretical and practical knowledge about the organization of the training process in production, there is a need for in-depth study of it for different categories of workers and systematization of this material. Summarizing the results of the study of the peculiarities of the functioning of the in-house training system, a conclusion was made about its imperfection and the need for modernization in terms of the methods used, the efficiency of presenting the material, the focus on the practical needs of workshop workers, the possibility of using the acquired skills in production, and the novelty of the taught material. Based on the data obtained as a result of the sociological study, a number of measures were proposed to improve the system of organizational training of workers of machine-building enterprise.
