The COVID-19 pandemic had an immediate negative impact on the tourism sector on an international as well as a national scale. The number of accommodation facilities recorded a constant growing trend in the pre-pandemic period. The assumption of world organizations focused on tourism was that it would decrease in the pandemic and post-pandemic period. The aim of the contribution is to measure the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on accommodation facilities in the V4 countries and their future development forecast. To fulfill the main objective, secondary data from the European Statistical Office (EUROSTAT) for the years 2011-2020 were used. Accommodation facilities in the pre-pandemic period recorded a constant growing trend, while the results of the forecast for the development of the number of accommodation facilities in the future show that this growing trend is also expected after the pandemic period.
