The impact of modern information technologies on the socio-cultural sphere, which is the basis for a prosperous society, affecting economic growth, social stability, and individual well-being is examined in the article. The relevance of the topic is due to the rapid development of digital technologies, which significantly changes the methods of communication, storage and distribution of cultural content, models of consumption of art and knowledge, as well as mechanisms of social interaction. It is noted in the article that in periods of social crises, digital tools have become critically important for ensuring the continuity of cultural and educational processes. In particular, the spread of virtual exhibitions, online learning, social networks and cloud services has become one of the factors of preserving social unity in conditions of limited physical interaction. The role of modern information technologies in the transformation of the socio-cultural sphere in the digital age is examined in the article. The potential of information technologies in such areas as culture, education, science, art, religion and social institutions is analyzed. Both opportunities and challenges that arise in the sphere of socio-cultural activity with the development of information technologies are revealed. It is noted in the article that despite the great potential of information technologies for the development of the socio-cultural sphere, there are also serious threats: digital inequality (not everyone has equal access to the Internet and digital technologies), the risk of losing cultural authenticity, the spread of disinformation and manipulation, excessive commercialization of culture. Tools that are already actively used are outlined: educational platforms, social networks, cloud services, virtual exhibitions, artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital archives, etc. Particular attention is paid to the impact of digital technologies on the preservation of cultural heritage and the formation of new formats of cultural communication. Practical directions for overcoming threats and ensuring digital inclusion are formulated in the article. The importance of combining technological progress with humanitarian values for the sustainable development of the socio-cultural environment is emphasized in the article.
