Abstract The proposed concept (patent pending) features a simple, non-ship-shaped hull utilizing proven technologies, eliminating untested applications and addressing challenges in accommodating regular SCRs, achieving a lightweight hull, and optimizing operability and reliability. The hull supports a large deck for topsides, with a 2 MMbbl oil storage capacity, offering low motions and compatibility with cost-effective, regular SCRs for deepwater operations. The design aims to significantly reduce Capex and Opex costs, incorporating innovative solutions that enhance cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency to improve contractual flexibility and competition, significantly lowering field development costs. These advancements have the potential to transform existing FPSO technologies and contribute to the future development of the FPSO market in offshore Brazil.
