Influence of film thickness of one and two-step universal adhesives on dentin bond strength

SYSelin YalnızHBHayal BoyacıoğluMTMurat Türkün

Key Points

  • This study aims to examine how film thickness impacts the bond strength of one and two-step universal adhesives on dentin.
  • Compared one-step and two-step universal adhesive systems
  • Measured dentin bond strength immediately and post-thermocycling
  • Evaluated the effect of adhesive film thickness on bonding performance
  • Double-layer application increased film thickness but did not enhance dentin bond strength
  • Two-step universal adhesive system performed better than one-step system immediately and after thermocycling

Abstract

Although double-layer application increased adhesive film thickness, it did not improve dentin bond strength. The two-step universal adhesive system showed superior bonding performance compared with the one-step system, both immediately and after thermocycling.
