Abstract

Introduction: Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia (SAB) is a clinically significant infection. 1 In South Australia, regional laboratories have limited testing capacity; sample referral leads to increased diagnostic turnaround time (TAT) for SAB. We report on S. aureus GeneXpert PCR (PCR) implementation in regional laboratories.
