Spillage of gallstones is a recognised complication of laparoscopic cholecystectomy. While considered a low-risk event, there is a potential for adverse patient outcomes, occasionally occurring long after the initial surgery. 1,2 The urachal remnant, a relatively rare congenital anomaly, can present radiologically with calcification which can mimic malignancy, 3 leading to unnecessary intervention and patient distress.
McGreal et al. (Sun,) studied this question.
