Despite significant advancements in science, technology, and governance, modern society continues to grapple with deep-rooted social evils that hinder human development and social harmony. Issues such as poverty, gender inequality, caste and racial discrimination, corruption, unemployment, violence, and moral degradation persist across nations, albeit in varying forms. This research paper examines the major prevailing social evils in contemporary society, analyzes their underlying causes, and explores their socio-economic and cultural consequences. The study further proposes practical and ethical remedies emphasizing education, legal reform, social awareness, and collective responsibility. The paper argues that sustainable social progress is impossible without addressing these systemic evils at both institutional and individual levels.
