Objective This study aimed to explore the biomechanical characteristics of exercise behaviors and self-management profiles in patients after bladder tumor surgery to provide evidence for developing individualized rehabilitation strategies. Methods A phenomenological qualitative research design was employed in this study. Using purposive sampling, 15 postoperative patients with bladder cancer treated in the Department of Urology of Lishui People's Hospital between January and June 2023 were recruited to participate in semi-structured interviews. Qualitative data were analyzed using Colaizzi’s seven-step method to extract core dimensions related to exercise biomechanics and self-management. A user profiling label system was constructed based on these dimensions. Word cloud visualization and tabular presentation were used to support data interpretation. Results Six key dimensions characterizing postoperative exercise biomechanics and self-management profiles were identified: basic characteristics, cognitive attributes, behavioral attributes, social support, psychological adjustment, and biomechanical features. Further clustering of these dimensions revealed four representative user profiles: the normative-adherent type, the anxiety-avoidant type, the passive-dependent type, and the impulsive-attempting type. Conclusions Substantial heterogeneity exists in exercise-related biomechanical characteristics and self-management capacities among patients following bladder tumor surgery. Therefore, rehabilitation interventions should be tailored according to distinct user profiles to optimize functional recovery and rehabilitation outcomes.
