Two novel metabolites, gamdione (1) and irpexidine C (2), along with six known compounds, including irpexidine A (3), (E)-3-methylpent-2-en-1,5-dioic acid (4), (Z)-3-methylpent-2-en-1,5-dioic acid (5), hydroxyphenylacetic acid (6), 1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one (7) and lumichrome (8), were isolated from the marine-derived fungus Gamszarea microspora BTBU20212050. Their chemical structures were elucidated by comprehensive 1D/2D NMR and HRESIMS spectroscopic analysis, and comparison with spectral data reported in the existing literature. Antimicrobial activity assays showed that gamdione (1) displayed weak antifungal activity against Candida albicans.
