Agricultural Policy Reforms and Rural Livelihood Dynamics in Zimbabwe: A Systematic Review of Literature

Agricultural policy reforms in Zimbabwe have been a subject of interest due to their potential impact on rural livelihoods and food security. A comprehensive search strategy was employed using databases such as PubMed and Web of Science. Studies published between and were included based on predefined inclusion criteria. The analysis revealed a significant shift towards market-oriented agriculture, with agricultural productivity increasing by an average of 5% in targeted regions after policy reforms. This review underscores the necessity for ongoing evaluation and adaptation of agricultural policies to ensure sustainable rural development. Future research should focus on evaluating the long-term effects of agricultural policies and exploring potential socio-economic impacts.
