B-mode grayscale and Doppler ultrasound imaging often encounter artifacts, which are misrepresentations of actual anatomy or image degradation due to incorrect assumptions about ultrasound propagation and interaction with tissues. The presence of certain artifacts may compromise image quality and necessitate elimination, while others contribute to and enhance diagnosis. To evaluate the Sudanese Sonographic Specialists’ Knowledge About Grayscale and Doppler Ultrasound Artifact. This was cross-sectional survey study conducted through an online questionnaire distributed through social media from March to July 2025. The sample size included 152 participants, most of whom were females (69.1%) and held a master’s degree (73.0%). In their first five years of experience (67.8%). The data were analyzed using SPSS version 27 (IBM, Armonk, NY, USA) and the DATAtab statistical online calculator 2025. Descriptive and inferential statistics were applied. Sonographers demonstrated good knowledge about grayscale and Doppler artifacts, with a percentage of knowledge (74.5%), with grayscale knowledge being more than Doppler artifacts. No significant differences were found between knowledge scores and demographic factors such as age, education level, and years of experience (P value > 0.05). The study concluded that sonographers have good knowledge of ultrasound artifacts but highlighted the need for more training, especially on Doppler artifacts. Targeted educational programs on ultrasound artifacts are crucial to enhance diagnostic skills and improve patient care.
