Climate change impacts are increasing in the Sahelian pastoralist systems of Botswana, affecting livestock productivity and human well-being. A mixed-methods approach combining semi-structured interviews with focus groups was employed. Data were analysed using thematic analysis, supplemented by inferential statistics. Sahelian pastoralists reported significant variability in coping strategies (mean = 75%, SD = 12%) across different climate conditions. The methodological framework developed can be used to assess the effectiveness of adaptation measures and inform policy development. Further research should focus on longitudinal studies and integration with socio-economic data.
