Abstract- 1906, a general physician, Dr Alois Alzheimer, reported the presence of pathological deformity in the necropsied brainof a woman affected by Alzheimer's Disease (AD). The disease is associated with behavioral issues, difficulties in dailyactivities, and a diversity of neuropsychiatric symptoms. Diagnosis of the disease in the early stage is essential. At an early stage,it is difficult to differentiate between normal ageing and disease symptoms. Psychological and neurological characteristics likeapathy, aggression, depression, and psychosis are considered core features of Alzheimer's disease. The major pathologicalhallmark of the disease includes neurofibrillary tangles and senile plaques. Conventional practices of medicine, using differentparts of numerous plants in their various forms to treat several neurodegenerative disorders, including cognitive disorders such asAlzheimer's disease. This traditional approach, when combined with modern technology, helps identify new leads for potentialdrugs. This article aims to identify key aspects related to AD.
