Abstract

Field research stations are essential for monitoring seismic activity in Ethiopia. These stations collect data that is crucial for understanding and predicting earthquakes. This evaluation utilizes multilevel regression analysis to assess the reliability of the Ethiopian seismic monitoring network. The analysis will consider both fixed effects (e. g. , station location) and random effects (e. g. , temporal variability in data collection). A preliminary analysis suggests that incorporating more automated systems could enhance data consistency by reducing human error, indicating a potential improvement direction for future reliability. The findings indicate the need for further research to validate these initial conclusions and explore specific areas where system improvements are most effective. Recommendation is made towards implementing multilevel regression analysis in future studies of field research station systems, as a robust methodological tool for reliability assessment.
