Child immunization rates in Nairobi slums have been historically low, highlighting a need for targeted interventions to improve health outcomes. The study employed quantitative methods including surveys and record reviews to assess changes in immunization coverage before and after the implementation of community health worker initiatives. Pre-intervention, immunization rates were significantly lower than post-intervention (20% vs. 45%, p < 0.01), indicating a substantial improvement attributable to enhanced outreach efforts. Community health workers effectively increased child immunization coverage in Nairobi slums through targeted and sustained interventions. Continuation of community-based health worker programmes, along with additional support for vaccine supply and infrastructure development, is recommended to sustain these positive outcomes.
