AbstractThe present study aims to determine whether the LIS curricula of selected LIS schools align with the UGC Learning Outcomes-based Curriculum Framework (LOCF). The primary objective is to map and compare the curricula of six LIS schools chosen based on their NAAC A++ accreditation. Findings highlight a critical need for ongoing curriculum enhancement. By fostering a culture of continuous innovation and improvement, LIS programmes can better equip students to navigate the complexities of the evolving information landscape. Additionally, the study suggests that the UGC should issue strict guidelines to ensure adherence to the recommended syllabus framework, thereby promoting uniformity and maintaining quality standards in LIS education.
