Today adolescents’ life has become very complex irrespective of their social status due to advance technological revolution. The objective of education is to make our youngster ready to become a contributing member of society but in the present circumstances our youth has been a source of burden in some cases. Adolescent is the time to realize one’s creativity, self discovery and desires to explore new things but under the impact of globalization the rich potentials of adolescents might get distracted to some anti social activities. Like how literacy cannot be separated from the development process and how a culture of peace must take root in the classroom from an early stage of learning and continue to reflect throughout learning process and becomes an intrinsic part in one’s life. The role of discipline cannot be separated from education as it plays vital roles in achieving the objective of education. In a generation with sophisticated weapons in human possession, role of discipline in education is a matter of concern. Since an imbalance living standard forces a good number of people to live under the grips of extreme poverty. Lacking of harmony among people creates insecure minds especially among youth. To minimize the problems of society through education the principles of NEP 2020 have include training the students to be good human being capable of rational thought and action, courage scientific temper and creative imagination with sound ethical values. In this context, the objective of this study is to give a theoretical understanding on the importance of discipline in education and analyze the challenges encounter by youth in present society.
