Judicial independence is a foundational pillar of constitutional democracy and the rule of law, ensuring that courts can adjudicate disputes free from political interference. In the modern era, the pressures on judicial institutions have intensified due to political polarization, executive aggrandizement, and transnational threats such as corruption and digital disinformation. This research examines mechanisms for protecting judicial independence, the challenges to impartiality, and contemporary reforms in court systems globally. Drawing on comparative constitutional analysis, case studies, and institutional theory, the study identifies strategies for insulating the judiciary from political influence while maintaining accountability, transparency, and public trust.
