What does it require of someone to give other people an experience of God’s love? In the context of Pentecostal adherents in Denmark, the most common method is evangelization – communicating the good news of Jesus’ sacrifice. This paper examines practices of Danish missionaries, who work to put God’s love into action. These practices are diverse and messages "spoken" not only through words but from many different materials, gestures, and bodies. In the context of rural and urban Tanzania these modalities matter to how God’s love becomes visible or felt by others – sometimes in contrast to how missionaries intended.
