Machine perfusion ameliorates non-anastomotic strictures after liver transplantation: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Key Points
Reduces the incidence of non-anastomotic strictures after liver transplantation, enhancing recovery.
The analysis revealed a significant decrease in biliary complications linked to the use of machine perfusion technology.
Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials highlighted the effectiveness of machine perfusion in liver transplantation outcomes.
Findings support a potential shift in clinical practice toward machine perfusion techniques for better post-transplant results.
Abstract
This meta-analysis confirmed that MP technology could reduce the incidence of NAS, which might further lead to a reduction in the incidence of BCs. However, it did not seem to improve AS incidence.
