Many older adults worldwide have been unable to embrace the benefits of group visual art therapy due to the lack of consideration of their culture during its application. Accordingly, this study aimed to examine how to enhance group visual art therapy for older adults to achieve psychological relief through a cultural lens. A systematic literature review was employed, supported by the PRISMA 2020 flow diagram. Group visual art therapy with transculture was described to suggest group visual art therapy with local culture through international institutions, regional governments, art therapists, and local communities. The four stakeholders must transition from group visual art therapy with transculture to group visual art therapy with local culture, addressing painstaking interventions, strategic implementation, social transformation, local empowerment, science, and training. The cultural perspective was emphasized in older adults’ group visual art therapy more than in previous studies.
