Growth failure in children represents the complex relationship between nutritional deficiencies or organic conditions and psychological factors. The psychological and psychosocial influences can be both risk factor and complication of growth failure. This review examines the bidirectional relationship between mental health and growth failure, since understanding the intricate relationship is essential for clinicians and health care professionals. The psychological consequences for both children and parents, and evidence-based treatment and prevention strategies are discussed. The manuscript highlights the critical significance of early identification and comprehensive intervention methods that address both physical and psychological facets of growth failure.
