Penicillin allergy is the most reported drug allergy, yet up to 90% of labeled individuals are not truly allergic. Persisting labels after negative testing contribute to unnecessary avoidance, broader-spectrum antibiotic use, and impaired antimicrobial stewardship. This quality improvement (QI) initiative sought to increase compliance with penicillin allergy de-labeling in patients with negative allergy testing in our tertiary Allergy Clinic from a baseline of 62% to 90% by June 2024.
