Limited Phase III data recovery excavations were conducted at site CA-SBA-19 in Santa Barbara County, California, in an area substantially altered by coastal development. Archaeologists developed a mitigation plan to recover a representative sample of intact archaeological materials from this disturbed site, characterize the nature of the materials, and identify subsistence practices related to the probable Middle Period (ca. 2500–1000 BP) occupation at the site. Two sediment samples from midden context were submitted for macrofloral analysis and AMS radiocarbon dating.
