Summary VisitRico, an agritourism non-profit formed in 2014 centering functional diversity and inclusivity, aims to address food security issues in Puerto Rico by reconnecting local people with sustainable food systems and educational tourism, transforming the island’s agri-food system. Their “Farm Tables” events enable local people to visit agroecological farms and sample local cuisine. The organization offers professional development and training to farmers, accessibility-focused sessions, and practical workshops. The project successfully showed how inclusive and accessible agritourism supports food security, community, and local economy. Culminating in a 10th anniversary gala that brought together chefs, farmers, and guests, VisitRico has an enduring commitment to inclusive agritourism, and this case study offers practical tips for other communities and regions seeking to unite the local agri-food system with local tourism.
