Abstract

Sensory circuits are assembled early in development via genetically programmed and activity-dependent mechanisms. In their work, Paola Plazas and colleagues investigate the role of neuronal activity in the development of central axon terminals of lateral line sensory axons in zebrafish. To learn more about their work, we talked to the first author, Lucia Salatino, and the corresponding author, Paola Plazas, Laboratory Head, Instituo de Farmacologia, Facultad de Medicina, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina.
