This essay critically examines how social and cultural narratives—expressed through cinema, songs, poetry, and literature—glorify values such as sacrifice, compromise, adjustment, obedience, and attachment as moral virtues. It argues that this glorification often leads to a misinterpretation of fundamental human concepts like love, freedom, and individuality. The work suggests that genuine love must remain voluntary, freedom must allow authentic existence, and individuality should not be confused with ego. By questioning these socially constructed ideals, the essay calls for a deeper reflection on how cultural narratives shape human relationships and personal identity.
