This study explores how the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) influences regional supply chains in Southern Africa through a case study of Mozambique. An ethnographic approach was employed, involving participant observation, interviews, and document review among key stakeholders in Mozambican supply chain networks. The analysis revealed that while AfCFTA has facilitated increased export opportunities for Mozambique, the country faces significant logistical hurdles such as inadequate infrastructure and regulatory compliance issues. This study underscores the need for improved logistics support and policy coherence to fully realise AfCFTA's potential in supporting regional supply chains. Recommendations include upgrading transportation networks and streamlining customs procedures to enhance trade efficiency within Mozambique's supply chain system.
