EOIB offers effective postoperative analgesia in laparoscopic surgery, reducing pain for up to 24 hours and decreasing opioid requirements without increasing adverse events. High-quality RCTs with standardized techniques and extended follow-up are needed to clarify its optimal perioperative role.
