Based on a systematic review of the Lagenaria siceraria (Molina) Standl industry in Dongchangfu District, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, this paper outlines the historical continuity of gourd cultivation, the area’s locational resources and industrialization process, and analyzes the practical pathway by which the region has built a complete value chain through standardized cultivation, variety breeding, advanced craft processing, and digital marketing. The article summarizes three main mechanisms for increasing farmers’incomes, evaluates the role of integrating intangible cultural heritage with digital technologies, and proposes future priorities: strengthening variety improvement and germplasm purification, improving the industrial chain and internationalizing brands, and enhancing talent training and technical support, with the aim of providing a replicable industrial development model and policy references for rural revitalization centered on specialty agricultural products.
