The Incheon Harbor was opened in 1883 with including six port terminals which handling various imports and passenger’s traffic. This study analyzes soil contamination in the harbor area using data obtained from the Korean soil monitoring network and local investigations of 13 sites over the past five years. Key pollutants identified are copper, lead, zinc, and fluorine, with high contamination levels in the north harbor due to industrial activities. Preventive measures are included strengthening the pollution prevention systems, environmental expertise among officials, and alongside establishing a soil monitoring network for better management.
