It is important to estimate the stiffness of bearing oil films non-destructively during operation. This study aims to identify the stiffness of the bearing oil film using Acoustic Emission (AE) signals and a particle filter. The relationships between bearing load and oil film stiffness, as well as between AE signal intensity and oil film thickness, are modeled using parametric observation equations. A generalized state estimation problem is then formulated and numerically solved using a particle filter. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, the stiffness parameter is estimated from simulated bearing load data.
