Abstract: For the American Shakespeare Center's (ASC) Fall 2025 production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona , Executive Artistic Director Vanessa Morosco hired Aidan O'Reilly to direct. Aidan, a veteran actor of the theater, became the ASC's first legally blind director to work in the space. In this interview, Aidan and Vanessa met with Shakespeare Bulletin 's General Editor and ASC Board member Peter Kirwan to reflect on working practices for visually impaired artists, the sensory experience of the Blackfriars Playhouse, the ASC's collaborative working practices, vocal health and actor training, and the production (reviewed by Noel Sloboda in this issue).
Peter Kirwan (Mon,) studied this question.
