Emergent Field Envelopes on a Closed Manifold: Magnetically Biased Ring Cavities from Cardioid Geometry to Plasma-Loaded Active Media

Weformulate a device-class framework in which an observable macroscopic boundaryis generated from a hidden phase rule imposed on a closed manifold. The mathematicalpoint of departure is a circle-map construction whose secant family admits a cardioidenvelope. We promote that solvable geometric archetype into a field-bearing architectureby replacing abstract chords with propagating optical or electro-optical excitations ona ring embedded in a transparent enclosure. In the resulting system, the ring suppliestopology, coherent injection supplies the hidden rule, the enclosure selects the mediumregime, ordinary dipole magnetic bias lifts envelope degeneracies, and optional plasmaloading converts the architecture into an active nonlinear cavity.Three baseline regimes are developed explicitly: an air-filled enclosure, an evacuatedenclosure, and a controlled gas or discharge-capable enclosure. The air regime providesvolumetric visibility but also refractive and scattering contamination. The vacuumregime suppresses most medium effects and exposes a detector-defined caustic governedpredominantly by coherence, geometry, and boundary conditions. The controlled-gasregime introduces ignition thresholds, residual-channel memory, conductivity anisotropy,and transient envelope rewriting. We then extend the architecture to magneticallybiased and plasma-loaded configurations, showing how ordinary dipole field geometriespromote chirality, anisotropy, polarization dependence, current-channel steering, and inactive media nonreciprocal branch selection. The plasma-loaded limit yields what weterm a magnetized plasma-envelope cavity: a concrete platform in which phase, memory,topology, and transient causality coexist within a single controllable object.The manuscript has three aims. First, it provides a mathematically explicit languagefor emergent envelope formation on closed manifolds. Second, it lays out a concretedevice architecture sufficient for theoretical and experimental interpretation whileintentionally withholding selected implementation-level details that are not requiredto specify the governing physics. Third, it isolates falsifiable signatures—includingcusp sharpening under evacuation, magnetic drift and chirality of the envelope, plasmamemory hysteresis, and protocol noncommutativity under pulsed drive—that distinguishthe framework from loose geometric analogy. The proposed system is not claimed to bea fusion reactor, a free-energy device, a dark-matter trap, or a practical power plant.Its present significance lies instead in its role as a new plasma-structure architecture, amagnetized nonlinear cavity, and a precision platform for emergent boundary physics.
