At present, the search for the most effective method of treating telangiectasia on the face is an urgent problem due to the development of new options for the treatment of this pathology. Objective. To compare the short-term and long-term results of facial telangiectasia obliteration using an Nd:YAG laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm and micropulse technology of 650 μs and a device with E-Light technology. Material and methods. A total of 101 patients aged between 20 and 70 years were divided into two groups using the random number method. Each patient underwent two sessions of telangiectasia obliteration with an interprocedure interval of one month. In the 1st group, telangiectasia obliteration was performed using Nd:YAG laser with the following parameters: wavelength of 1064 nm, pulse duration of 650 μs, spot diameter of 2 mm. Energy flux density ranged from 127 to 191 J/cm² during the first procedure and from 159 to 223 J/cm² — during the second procedure. In the 2nd group, telangiectasia obliteration sessions were carried out by means of E-Light device with the following settings: wavelength range of 530—1200 nm, pulse duration of 1—10 ms, spot size of 8×40 mm, energy flux density for IPL of 19—21 J/cm² in the first procedure and 21—23 J/cm² in the second procedure, RF of 3 J/cm³. Before the first and second procedures, as well as 1, 3 and 6 months after the second procedure, patients underwent macrophotography and dermatoscopy of vascular lesions of the face. Results. Throughout the entire post-procedure period, the neodymium laser showed higher effectiveness: 1 month after two therapy sessions, the treatment effectiveness in the 1st group was 22.1% higher relative to the total number of telangiectasias. After 3 months, this difference increased to 24.2%, and after 6 months it reached 39.1%. When considering telangiectasias on the skin of the cheeks, the effectiveness was higher after 1 month by 19.3%, after 3 months by 25.2% and after 6 months — by 43.1%. Regarding telangiectasias located on the skin of the nose, the effectiveness was higher after 1 month by 22.0%, after 3 months by 19.7% and after 6 months — by 31.4%. Complications in the form of hematoma occurred in the course of the procedure in the 1st group in 1 (2%) patient, in the 2nd group — in 4 (8%) patients. In addition, 1 (2%) patient of the 2nd group had hypopigmentation on the skin of the face. Conclusion. Removal of telangiectasias using Nd:YAG laser with 1064 nm wavelength and micropulse technology of 650 μs is safer and accompanied by more sustainable long-term results than the removal of telangiectasias by means of device with E-Light technology.
