With the increasing complexity of student management affairs in colleges and universities, the work pressure of counselors in student management has also increased. The traditional management mode is difficult to cope with the diversified and individualized needs of students, therefore, the application of intelligent decision support system in the management of student affairs in colleges and universities has become an important development direction. The purpose of this paper is to explore how the intelligent decision support system can play a role in the daily work of counselors, and realize the functions of student behavior prediction, personalized counseling suggestion generation and management decision optimization by introducing cloud computing, big data processing and artificial intelligence technology. The study shows that the system can significantly improve the efficiency of counselors in the management of school registration, mental health counseling and the implementation of reward and punishment system, and help counselors better grasp the overall situation of students and make scientific management decisions. The paper concludes by looking forward to the future application prospects of the intelligent decision support system in student management in colleges and universities, and points out the possibility of further optimizing and promoting the system.
