This deductive qualitative analysis study explored online undergraduate and graduate students’ experience of participating in an online mindfulness community. Specifically, how their participation relates to their persistence through their academic program. Participant responses to short answer questions were collected online. Data analysis was approached through a priori theory emphasizing the four qualities of academic mindset and its relationship to student persistence. The four themes presented were: Belief in one’s effort, Sense of belonging, Self-confidence, and Relevance and value. The article concludes with a discussion about implications and limitations.
