Does heart failure increase the risk of adverse renal outcomes in patients with normal kidney function?
Heart failure is a significant risk factor for developing chronic kidney disease and rapid eGFR decline in patients with initially normal kidney function.
HF is associated with significantly higher risk of incident CKD, incident CKD or mortality, and rapid eGFR decline. Early diagnosis and management of HF could help reduce the risk of long-term renal complications.
