The defences of this small (1.4 ha) hillfort were sectioned and a portion of the interior excavated. The sequence of the defences, partly multivallate, remains somewhat uncertain but they had been slighted finally. A subrectangular house had been followed by four round houses, one of two phases. Radiocarbon dates in 5th century BC were obtained and the site is compared and contrasted with the Herefordshire hillforts.
Adrian Babbidge (Thu,) studied this question.
