ABSTRACT During the excavation procedures for the railway trait Napoli‐Cancello, in the city of Afragola (Naples), several burials dating back to the Late Antique Age were found. One of them was an amphora burial ( enchytrismòs ) and contained the skeletal remains of a subadult individual affected by bilateral supracondylar process. Supracondylar process is a rare anatomical variant, especially if bilateral, characterized by a bony protrusion on the anteromedial surface of the humerus in the distal third of the diaphysis, with a reported prevalence below 1.0%. To the best of our knowledge, this case represents the earliest published archaeological occurrence of bilateral supracondylar process in Italy (4th century ad ) and the first reported in Southern Italy.
