The article attempts to justify the need to improve the mechanisms of state support for agro-industrial production in conditions of sanctions pressure. These areas are based on the transition and reorientation of mechanisms from the purely subsidized content of state support for the agricultural sector to mechanisms for supporting its development due to an increase in the cost of agricultural business, based on the development of a methodology for assessing the effectiveness of agricultural production development from the cost of products to the value of business.
