Does short-term oral amiodarone reduce recurrence of atrial tachyarrhythmias in patients following catheter ablation for paroxysmal or persistent atrial fibrillation?
Short-term oral amiodarone after AF ablation does not prevent 6-month arrhythmia recurrence but significantly reduces early hospitalizations and cardioversions during the blanking period.
Short-term oral amiodarone treatment following ablation for paroxysmal or persistent AF did not significantly reduce recurrence of atrial tachyarrhythmias at the 6-month follow-up, but it more than halved atrial arrhythmia related hospitalization and cardioversion rates during the blanking period.
