This study presents the synthesis of a series of novel N-substituted 2-(3-cyano-4-isobutoxyphenyl)-4-methyl-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxamides 6a–6j. The process begins with the preparation of 2,4-substituted thiazole-5-carboxylate 3, followed by its hydrolysis using sodium hydroxide. The resulting intermediate, 2,4-substituted thiazole-5-carboxylic acid 4, is then reacted with various aromatic and heterocyclic amines 5 in an appropriate solvent in the presence of EDC·HCl and a catalytic amount of DMAP. This method is environmentally friendly and cost-effective. The synthesized thiazole derivatives were characterized using advanced spectroscopic techniques, including mass spectrometry and IR and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
