Is visceral obesity associated with cardiac steatosis (epicardial/pericardial fat and myocardial TG content) in nondiabetic obese men?
Visceral obesity predicts epicardial and pericardial fat, but not necessarily myocardial triglyceride content, in nondiabetic obese men.
We suggest that visceral obesity is the best predictor of epicardial and pericardial fat in abdominally obese subjects. Myocardial TG content may present a separate entity that is influenced by factors beyond visceral adiposity.
