This article presents the results of theoretical research and practical testing of technological solutions that ensure the production of wide strips with a transverse thickness variation of no more than 0.05 mm on a continuous wide-strip mill 2000. It is recommended to use work rolls with a reduced concavity in the center of barrels in the finishing group of stands, compared to traditionally used roll profiles, and to reduce the reduction in the final stands to reduce rolling forces and elastic deformations of roll system. As a result of experimental testing of the proposed solutions, the share of rolled products with transverse thickness variations not exceeding 0.05 mm amounted to 69% of the total volume of metal rolled during a single work roll campaign.
